Pigment Red 254, as one of the first DPP variety, was put into the market in 1986. It is a neutral red color, which has excellent solvent resistance and high light fastness at level 8. One of the main application of PR254 is automotive primers. In order to make it cost effective, it can be used together with CI Pigment Red 170 with lower light resistance but stronger blue shade, or used together with quinacridone to make transparent blue-red; PR254 is also widely used in the color of plastics such as PS,PVC and polyolefin. This pigment is also widely used in plastic packaging ink, water-based packaging inks with good hiding power and good migration resistance.

Features
Pigment Red 254 is a middle shade red with both transparent and semi-opaque types. It has good fluidity, dispersibility and low viscosity. PR254 is one of the earliest DDP pigments that are suitable for automotive coating and high end industrial coating. It has excellent light fastness and good resistance to color fading if used together with anti-oxidant or UV stabilizer, are largely used in toy plastics used in outdoor.
